Energy transition and its acceptability

Apr 14, 2022 | 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM

Description

According to the IEA, around 55% of cumulative emission reductions on the path to net Zero by 2050 are directly linked to consumer choices such as buying an electric vehicle, using cloud platforms, renovating the housing with energy efficient technologies, or installing a heat pump according to the IEA. It means that a fast and broad transition required by the net zero path will not be possible without the citizens' support and participation. It can only be "for people and about people": But changes will affect many different aspects of people's lives - from transportation, heating and cooking habits to urban planning and jobs. So how make the energy transition acceptable? What are the difficulties to overcome and the best practices?
