Our energy infrastructures now interact with digital equipment on a daily basis for energy production, storage, distribution and consumption. These developments, which ensure availability, efficiency and responsiveness of electric grid at the same time, may give the possibility of rising cyber-attacks. While there is awareness of these issues, the risks are still real. Energy transition policies and efforts to integrate renewable energies will only reinforce this trend. How can cybersecurity participate in building these multi-energy and algorithmic infrastructures? What common measures should be adopted throughout the European Union to guarantee the security of highly interconnected energy networks?
