General Manager

Description

A graduate of Audencia (France) and the University of Ottawa (Canada), Pierre Chambon began his career in industry in 1996, whether in electrical engineering at Schneider Electric or in waste energy recovery at TIRU (now Dalkia Waste Management). He has held financial positions related to operations in an international context. Pierre Chambon joined the ENGIE group in 2006, in the Finance Division in charge of structured financing, as well as in the operational entities in charge of energy management and electricity production, in particular renewable energy. In 2014, Pierre Chambon was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Société Hydro-Electrique du Midi (SHEM), the 3rd largest hydro-electric operator in France with 800 MW of installed capacity. He is in charge of renewing the hydro-electric concessions with the objective of preparing the company for the competition of the concessions. At the same time, he is working on a plan to maintain and modernize the company’s industrial assets. Since 1 October 2018, Pierre Chambon has been Managing Director of Storengy France, the leading natural gas storage operator in France with 10 billion m³ stored in 14 underground storage sites. In particular, he is in charge of adapting the company to a new context of business regulation since January 1, 2018, which involves an industrial performance plan in a context of recovery of storage activities. It also aims to prepare the company for a zero-carbon world by adapting storage infrastructure to renewable gases.
