Description
Circular economy of raw materials in Energy Transition.
Energy transition is quickly increasing the need for raw materials. For instance, in IEA scenario, the lithium demand will increase by a factor of 10 to 40 and cobalt by x5 to x20 in the next two decades.
To secure a sustainable supply of these materials, Europe is promoting a circular economy approach, which includes responsible mining and improved recycling.
In this session, we will particularly illustrate how battery value chain is developing circular economy, from mining to recycling.
